A keen motorcyclist from Scotland has set up his own bike tour company in the Himalaya following an inspirational ride through Nepal and India.
Ex motorcycle-instructor Mike Burns from Dollar came up with the idea for tour company Motorcycles and Mountains two years ago. "I was fed up working and getting no job satisfaction," he explains. "I decided to set up a business that allowed me to indulge in my passion for biking and gave me the chance to show people some of the most beautiful places in the world."
Along with his business partner and Nepalese resident Dawa Sherpa, Motorcycles and Mountains plans to offer five different tours through the Himalaya that are either two or three weeks long and cost between £3,500 - 5,000. Trips will include accommodation, foods, fuel and the hire of one of the company's 2010 Royal Enfield 500cc Classics.
